Who we are

At Studio G+S Architects, we’ve helped our clients exceed their architectural goals and expectations since our founding in 2004. Our specialty is residential architecture. Our style often integrates both modern elements and traditional detail together to create inviting, comfortable, rich spaces.

The firm started with an emphasis on residential renovations. That work made real the transformative power of design. Buildings which just didn’t work or “feel right” became light-filled, warm, and functional for people.

Our portfolio has expanded to include new buildings and commercial work. We maintain our passion to transform our environment in the broader context, and to never be wasteful!

We, at G+S, place our clients’ needs first. We design a unique strategy around each project – taking into account the specifics of scope, site, budget and timeline. We are great listeners and we pay attention to the details. Our expertise allows us to shepherd a project through the complex world of planning approvals, permitting, bidding and construction.

We are excited to announce our practice is expanding to the Los Angeles area! The principals have strong family ties and friendships in Southern California, and G+S looks forward to joining the strong Los Angeles design community.

Principal
Sunny Grewal is a founding and managing partner at Studio G+S Architects, bringing more than 35 years of experience to every project. Known for making projects happen, Sunny draws on his fifteen years with a local design–build firm to navigate the entire design and construction process with ease. His expertise, problem-solving skills, and client-first mindset ensure that every project is delivered with excellence.
Sunny earned his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and has shared his knowledge as an instructor at Diablo Valley College’s Department of Architecture. He also served on the San Pablo Planning Commission, helping to shape the city’s built environment.
A licensed architect in California (C30114) and a certified green builder, Sunny is committed to creating sustainable, enduring designs. Outside of the office, he enjoys painting and playing guitar.

Principal
Edward Soos has more than twenty years of design and project management experience as a founding principal at Studio G+S Architects. Ed received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Before attending U.C. Berkeley’s Master of Architecture program, Ed contributed four years to create and teach fine arts/humanities curriculum for at-risk students in Los Angeles. His passion for design, the arts, and inspiring others continues.
